Lots of young Photographer come to me and ask me what should I do how can I get started as a fashion photographer?
“Having been around, I know how hard it is to get in the door,
First I tell them never stop knocking at the door. Persistence will pay off. A over night success take ten years.
Then I would say to really spend time on working at your image. Take the time to have a clear vision is the most important thing. I myself do this by spending much time in Paris where I have he time to do the research & shoot on my own terms.
A photographer’s most important tool is her portfolio! This is particularly true for beginners who don’t have an established reputation A websites offer an inexpensive way to showcase a relatively large quantity of images The young photographer has to understand their target, in terms of their personal goals the direction the photographer wants to take,”
“Everyone is different.” If you’re more interested in concentrating on your personal vision than taking commercial work, you can also considering exhibiting in a fine art photography gallery.
Most important is that the images are consistent through out the website or portfolio.
Client know within three images whether she likes a photographer’s style. “Tell a story: not necessarily having all the pictures relating to each other, but I like to have some sort of sense at the end of it that I’ve seen that photographer’s personality come through in the pictures.”
Also The images you choose to showcase in your portfolio should be thematically linked to the job you’re trying to get.
Next
The single biggest thing that people should do is their research. They should know what the client does, and see how you can apply that to what you do. And they should at least know the name of the Client they are calling on.”
Remember your that you’re “selling” rather than “showing ” Evening if the publication has no budget you must be on at all times. client are looking for concise images which clearly communicate an idea or an emotion.

Funny how the world goes round.
Franklin P. Jones said “Love doesn’t make the world go ’round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”
Well I love my friends last time I was in New York Nicolas Padron let me use his studio and showed me some images he shot of a new face names with DNA Nastasia Ohl who I end up using her a few days later.
I show you my images later but first let me drop his images as they inspired me to shoot the great Nastasia Ohl who later went on to Paris where I saw her walk for Chanel.
Thanks you for everything Nicolas!
Best,
Brian

Last two days at the beach with Huckleberry Finn
I love the Hamptons. Not for the shi-shi Parties and Celbs. I love the beach, the air, and relaxation it offer.
Two days out east with the Adventures of Huckleberry finn.
If you never have read Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn, bring it with you next time you go out to the east end.
